I finally found a high chair for Dexter. After months of searching, hoping I would find one at the consignment sale (no dice) looking online and at Target and the rest of the big box stores, I found the perfect one.
At IKEA. Where I should have gone in the first place. For $22.
Carolyn and Betty both have a very basic Graco one. Absolutely no bells or whistles, just a high chair, with a tray that comes off. If I could have found it, I would have bought it. Betty kept trying to give me hers, but what would Claire and Dexter eat off of at Nana's? I was about to just go to a restaurant supply place to get one of those wood or plastic stand ones, the one you might use at a family style place, sort of a booster chair on stilts, then I saw the IKEA one. Just a chair on stilts, with a tray. The tray doesn't come off. I don't care. It's small, perfect for our small house. It's white plastic with silver legs. The same silver color of every other thing in our house, as it's all also from IKEA.
I even saw cool storage boxes for toys that I will go back and get as soon as I can to corral all the stuff that is taking over the office/dining room. I'm doing a pretty good job with the baskets, but these boxes have lids, wheels AND can be stacked. And they look cool.
I ended up making around $68.00 at the consignment sale, of which I keep 65%, the rest going to the organization that hosts it. I spent about $50, but was able to get Dex a whole bunch of new clothes and toys.
I don't know if I will do it again. It took a lot of work to get everything organized, and then they still refused a bunch of my clothes for stains. I saw and bought clothes that had worse stains than the items of mine that got rejected, so I guess it was who checked you in, and then I only sold half of what I brought. The rest went to charity, which is what I probably would have done with it anyway, but I still could have passed stuff along to people I knew instead. The location is a bit tough to get to as well, out in Van Nuys. I guess I'll give it one more shot in the fall if I think I have enough stuff to get rid of. It's had to tell what moved. I think toys and stuff like strollers.

$22 bucks for a high chair was a steal. When we lived closer to an IKEA and our family was home, we bought a lot there. Bought desks and bookcases years ago and still have and use them.
